I am sure Nathan is so proud, and in turn, so is Fred. I just hope Dad is not thinking, "And Spencer, some day, this will all be yours..." As a mother, I worry.

Spencer is just in love with his dogs. We have two large Labs, and though they are not as crazy about Spencer as he is them, they seem to get along just fine.

Spencer's first swim in a Great Lake

On our last evening on Beaver Island, Nathan and I thought it would be a great idea to introduce our 6 month old son to Lake Michigan. The three of us went for a swim. Spencer was none too pleased about the cold, crashing waves of the lake. It took a few minutes, and being held in Mom's arms--water up to her waist--before he decided swimming in a Great Lake was ok.

There's no better teether than Dad!

While on vacation on Beaver Island, Spencer discovered Dad is the best teething toy he owns! It was only a few weeks later that his first tooth broke through!

Going Mobile

This morning after a short nap Spencer decided to go mobile and crawl across the livingroom in pursuit of the remotes. Apparently the remotes have more appeal to the young master than the dozens of bright toys we bought for him. Enjoy the video, be patient it is a big file and may take a few minutes to load.

Spencer's First Spot News Event

Today while hanging out on my day off Spencer and I were called to a house fire west of Gillette that consumed most of a trailer before we got there. Spencer spent about fifteen minutes in the care of reporter Jeremy Goldmeier while I shot the fire. Spencer didn't seem to mind the firetrucks or the people running everywhere when the tanker ran out of water. He's already beginning to network with the firefighters and paramedics, good friends to have.
